Twin Flames : A story of love, loss, and unbreakable bonds

I, Meera, was somewhere between excitement and nervousness. Mine was an arranged marriage—a match brought together by horoscopes and hearts full of good intentions. What nobody had prepared me for, though, was that my husband, Aarav, had an identical twin. And not just any twin. Arjun and Aarav were mirror copies—tall, sharp-featured, always dressed in muted tones that made them look even more confusingly alike. I laughed it off. Mostly. But the teasing was relentless. Friends, cousins, even the priest whispered sly jokes during the pheras at my wedding. Living under one roof tested us all. We were a modern family but deeply rooted in tradition. Arjun, my brother-in-law, was courteous, respectful—and utterly distant. Almost too perfect. But now and then, in fleeting moments, the mask slipped. When i began to form a good bond with him as my brother-in-law, He began working longer shifts. I noticed he started volunteering in rural clinics, disappearing for days at a time. He needed space. And perhaps, so did I. Aarav never noticed the undercurrent. Or maybe he did, but trusted us too much. And yet, Arjun never married. Once, I asked him why—half-curious, half-afraid. He looked at me for a long moment and said, "Because I already did. In another life."
